LaLiga, in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for the first time
The operator AndorraeTVeu, on the technology of TVUP Media and The Channel Store, will offer its subscribers in Andorra the outcome of the championship with the highest quality of image and sound
TVUP Streaming Media is consolidated as a leader in video technology innovation, becoming the first streaming service to offer LaLiga matches with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology. It will do so thanks to the advanced infrastructure of The Channel Store, which supports the television service distributed by AndorraeTVeu. The Andorran operator will offer the outcome of the championship with the highest image quality and sound possible.
This decisive weekend, in which Barça can be proclaimed champion if they defeat Espanyol in the Barcelona derby, the Andorran operator AndorraeTVeu will offer the matchday through the specific channel LaLigaTV, which will broadcast its signal incorporating Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. This innovation, result of the joint work of Dolby Laboratories and The Chanel Store, allows bringing these two technologies, already common in video on demand, to sports broadcasts and live content.
It will also be the first time that LaLiga matches can be enjoyed with the most advanced video and audio technologies of Dolby, so the Spanish championship follows in the footsteps of Premier League and Bundesliga, which are already offering their matches with Dolby Atmos and HDR.
The incorporation of both Dolby’s technologies into channel distribution through The Channel Store will take viewers to the next level. Dolby Vision is a high dynamic range (HDR) video technology designed to improve the visual quality of content, increasing contrast, color accuracy and image brightness, providing a more realistic and vibrant visual experience.
Dolby Atmos, on the other hand, is an audio technology originally created for cinema, which immerses the viewer in a surrounding sound environment. While stereo sound is limited to left and right channels, content in Dolby Atmos is freed from those restrictions, allowing the emitter to place individual sounds around the viewer.
To enjoy the best visual and sound experience, its necessary to have compatible equipment with both standards, but the vast majority of televisions and sound bars already are if they aren’t older than three years.
“In the DNA of TVUP Streaming Media and The Channel Store -the B2B division- there has always been and will be leading the implementation of the latest technological advances around digital video and audio. We have a world-class video engineers team who spend part of their time exploring the frontiers of technology creating innovative yet marketable solutions for our partners: operators, publishers, advertisers…” said Fernando García Calvo, CEO of The Channel Store.
