TVUP Streaming Media was awarded yesterday in the seventh edition of the 2023 Dolby Innovator’s Awards. The company received the Innovation Award for sports broadcasting services offered on a TV platform, after being the first streaming service to offer the resolution to La Liga on Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Dolby recognised TVUP Streaming Media, as well as its division The Channel Store, “as a leading multinational company, with a clear innovative vocation, capable not only of enabling the access to all the entertainment that the market demands, but to go far beyond that, being the first provider in Spain to broadcast the First Division National League Championship with the video and audio technologies of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos”.

TVUP Streaming Media has become, this season, the first television service to offer LaLiga matches with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, thus bringing these two technologies, already frequently used in video on demand, to the broadcast of sport and live content. This has been possible thanks to The Channel Store’s infrastructure, and subscribers in Andorra through the operator AndorraeTVeu have been able to enjoy the latest matches of the championship in the highest video and audio quality.

Fran Sáez, Executive Director of Technology at TVUP Streaming Media received the award and was thankful for the recognition “We need to thank the Dolby team for all the support we received from them, since we started creating The Channel Store a few years ago, to this day, in which we are distributing over 600 channels in several platforms and in six different countries. Now, moreover, we are doing so generating the first experiences with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with the broadcast of live sports events”.
